Please join us in congratulating Cindy Nadjiwon on being SHLC’s September 2022 Learner of the Month.
Cindy was nominated by her mentor, Shannon. Here is an excerpt of what Shannon submitted to us about Cindy.
Cynthia is a new learner and registered with Good Learning Anywhere with the hopes of upgrading her science and math skills. She diligently logs in and is very responsive to her mentor. Although she is doing fantastic with her current course, there has been a few things she has not understood within her course. Cynthia took the initiative to further search and look up related concepts and supporting material for her coursework. She also has shared that she has been teaching all of her children about what she has learned with Good Learning Anywhere and says that with the help of GLA, she now feels confident explaining to her children concepts related to science, and feels good about helping them with their homework!
We decided to ask Cindy some questions so we could share more about her story with you.
How did you first hear about online learning with Good Learning Anywhere?
Contact North.
Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?
I was out of school for a long time but with extra learning I was able to understand the lessons more fully.
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?
YouTube is a great resource to get additional learning if you don’t quite understand something. It is very rewarding to finish the lessons so keep going.
What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?
Completing Chemistry Part 1 and being able to share that knowledge with my children.
What are your goals for the future?
To keep learning new things and improving myself.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for supporting you on this journey?
My husband and children Robbie, Emily and Gregor for all their support and encouragement.
Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?
I’m grateful for the support received from Shannon and for the opportunity to upgrade my skills without having to leave my community.
Congratulations Cyndi! All the best in 2022!
