Please join us in congratulating Sheila Madahbee on being SHLC’s March 2025 Learner of the Month.

Sheila was nominated by Jaclyne, an online educator here at Good Learning Anywhere. Here is a statement about Sheila from Jaclyne.

Sheila has shown great dedication and a strong desire to grow over the past month and, therefore, is deserving of the March 2025 learner of the month award.

This month, Sheila focused on improving her interview skills to prepare for a job interview. She worked hard on updating her resumé and cover letter, and enrolled in the Employment Success for Job Seekers course to build her skills even more.

During her March Break, she practiced her interviews using InStage, and completed a real interview. The interviewers said she had the highest score out of all the candidates! While she decided not to pursue the job, she stayed positive and kept focused on what’s best for her!

Because of her hard work, commitment, and love of learning, Sheila truly deserves this month’s Learner of the Month award!

Keep up the great work, Sheila!

We decided to ask Sheila some questions so we could share more about their story with you.

How did you first hear about our program?

I can’t remember exactly, possibly through Clara Corbiere or Kenjegewin Teg.

Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?

One course had way too many videos for me, i kind of took a break, like 2 weeks, and decided i would take one just to get it all over and done with.

What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?

It all depends on what you’re interested in or would like to refresh or to learn something completely new. Math skills always need refreshing and for me to learn something new like Artificial Intelligence (using it to get help for interviewing skills).

What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?

Not GLA related, but archery related. I finished in 8th place at the World 3D Archery Championships in 2009.

What are your goals for the future?

Short term to just keep myself busy doing whatever I like , wherever I want and for whoever I want. Staying in the know on some topics and fields and taking courses here with GLA helps.

Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?

It certainly was unexpected and I don’t take these courses for awards. These courses help keep me busy and help me to keep learning.

Congratulations Sheila! All the best in 2025!
