Sewanu was nominated by Ashley, an online educator here at Good Learning Anywhere. Here is a statement about Sewanu from Ashley.
Sewanu started with Good Learning Anywhere in March of 2025. During his learning journey with GLA, he has completed numerous courses. However, what sticks out to me the most about this learner is their consistent kindness and empathy towards others. Sewanu always replies to emails, with words of compassion, and has shown his love towards those around him through his responses. Sewanu can be described as a hardworking, consistent, compassionate, and overall well-rounded person – which is a perfect combination for the recipient of Learner of the Month.
We decided to ask Sewanu some questions so we could share more about their story with you.
How did you first hear about our program?

Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?
I had some challenges because they were self directed courses. My son assisted me by instructing me on how to perform some of the tasks.
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?
My advice will be to start without overanalyzing because a journey of a thousand miles begin with a step. Contact North has a very versatile and rich curriculum that anyone can and should take advantage of.
What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?
I was able to improve my digital skills.
What are your goals for the future?
My goal will be to go back to college to study Early Childhood Education.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for supporting you on this journey?
I will love to specially appreciate my mentor, Ashley for her push and her words of encouragement. I have never met her and it feels like I have known her forever. She is an amazing personality. A special thanks to Aki Cook who also helped me at the commencement of the program, she was patient to put me through all I needed to know.
Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?
I love this quote by “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young” _Henry Ford That is mantra for life and I’m always excited about personal development.
