Zakaria was nominated by Sharon, an online educator here at Good Learning Anywhere. Here is a statement about Zakaria from Sharon.
Zakaria joined our program on June 5, 2025, as part of a group enrollment. He successfully completed the Food Safety course and earned his certification. Zakaria consistently communicates with professionalism—his emails are courteous, appreciative, and friendly.
He demonstrated his commitment by referring his sister to the program and choosing to continue his studies beyond his initial group obligations. Zakaria has completed Accounting 1 and is currently progressing through Accounting 2.
His dedication and positive attitude make him the perfect candidate for Learner of the Month.
We decided to ask Zakaria some questions so we could share more about their story with you.
How did you first hear about our program?
I first heard about Good Learning Anywhere in May, when I participated in a two-week Customer Service Training program organized by the Multicultural Council. During the program, a representative from Good Learning Anywhere conducted one of the sessions and that is how I learned about the organization.
Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?
Yes, I faced some struggles at the beginning, especially with managing time and understanding the online platform. However, I overcame these challenges by setting a regular study schedule, asking for help from my instructor when needed and taking notes to stay organized and focused during the lessons.
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?
My advice would be to just get started, even if it feels challenging at first. Improving your skills takes time and consistency, but every small step makes a difference. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek help from instructors.
What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?
One of my greatest achievements is being selected as the Learner of the Month by the Sioux-Hudson Literacy Council. It means a lot to me because it recognizes the effort and dedication I put into improving my skills and continuing my education. This accomplishment motivates me to keep learning and growing both personally and professionally.
What are your goals for the future?
My main goal for the future is to continue improving my skills and build a stable career in Canada. I want to keep learning new things that will help me grow professionally, especially in computers and technology. In the long term, I hope to work in a position where I can use my communication skills, help others and keep developing myself through continuous learning.

Yes, I would like to thank Sharon Mestwarp and the entire Sioux-Hudson Literacy Council team for their continuous support and encouragement throughout my learning journey. Sharon’s guidance, continuous communication and motivation helped me stay focused and confident. I also appreciate the instructors from the Multicultural Council who introduced me to Good Learning Anywhere and encouraged me to keep improving my skills.
Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?
Winning this award motivates me to keep learning and improving. I hope my experience inspires others to stay dedicated and never give up.
