Peter was nominated by Clara, his online mentor at Good Learning Anywhere. Here is a statement about Peter from Clara.
Peter first came to GLA in January 2022. In 2022 he completed Accounting Parts1-4, Numeracy at Work Parts 1-4 and SM/SD-Communications. In 2023, he completed GED Math Prep 1-3 and Smart About Spending Money. After completing the Pre GED Math courses he decided to take the summer off. He made contact mid-August looking for more courses. He chose Banking and Everyday Math which he is close to completing. While Peter is a relatively quiet learner, he works steadily and makes weekly progress. He always responds to emails in a timely manner and does not hesitate to ask for assistance when its needed. He took his time and reviewed lessons he was having difficulty with and was instrumental in finding several errors in Pre GED Math. These inaccurate instructions/answers have now been updated thanks to Peter’s diligence.
We decided to ask Peter some questions so we could share more about his story with you.
How did you first hear about online learning with Good Learning Anywhere?
My teacher recommended me about this platform.
Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?
As a child, since I had difficulties learning, I would just do it by repetition.
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?
I would ask someone to show me how certain tasks are done.
What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?
My greatest achievements in my life are cleaning the vehicles and making chicken potato salads for special occasions.
What are your goals for the future?
I would like to be an accountant or the manager of the business.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for supporting you on this journey?
Yes, I would like to thank all my support workers for helping me through my jobs.
Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?
No, not that I can think of.
