Congratulations to Rowan Pemmican on being Good Learning Anywhere’s (GLA), May Learner of the Month!
Rowan is from Deer Lake First Nation, a remote Oji-Cree community in Northwestern Ontario located close to the Manitoba border. Rowan first enrolled with GLA in November 2018 and successfully completed the Live online programs First Step and Post-Secondary Readiness (PSR). During the PSR program, Rowan was also introduced to another online learning platform, Moodle. Rowan really enjoyed Moodle and has now completed 8 of the 11 available courses with Good Learning Anywhere. We asked Rowan about his success so far and here is what he had to say:
How did you first hear about online learning with Good Learning Anywhere?
From my parents.
Did you have any struggles during your learning? If so, how did you overcome them?
Finding time for the courses and overcoming this by using time management skills.
What advice do you have for someone thinking about starting to improve their skills?
Never give up no matter what and be determined.
What is your greatest achievement? Or what accomplishment are you most proud of?
Getting a grade 12 diploma.
What are your goals for the future?
I am not sure yet, but I will find one someday.
Is there anyone you would like to thank for supporting you on this journey?
My family, the teachers, and friends.
Is there anything else you would like to share with people about winning this award?
Keep going forward no matter what stands in your way.
GLA is sure that Rowan will accomplish anything he sets his mind to! Congratulations once again and good luck in your future endeavours.
